About Factorio hosting

Factorio is a factory-building game with multiplayer. A headless dedicated server keeps your factory running for everyone.

As factories grow, server speed is mostly limited by CPU rather than by the number of players, so very large builds can strain a small plan. Mods come from the game's own mod portal, and the server and players need the same ones.

Factorio hosting questions

Is SSD Starter enough for a big factory?

Small and medium factories with a few friends usually fit the plan we list it on. Very large factories can slow the game down because the simulation is CPU heavy. If that happens, contact us about a larger plan.

Can I use mods?

Factorio mods come from the in-game mod portal. The server and every player must run the same mods. Tell us in a ticket if you hit a problem.

Which plan should I choose for Factorio?

We list Factorio on SSD Starter, which has 1 vCPU, 1 GB RAM. How much you need also depends on players and mods, so try the price estimator for a rough estimate.

Can I change plans later?

Our features page describes moving to a bigger plan as you grow. To change plans, open a support ticket. See the FAQ for more.
